Thing 13 edit a wiki

Task completed. I hadn't used wetpaint before - interesting. I linked me to favourite blogs - I think.
Anyway Task completed.

Thing 12 - Read about Wikis

I read about Wikis - Once again this is familiar to me & I am user freindly. Task completed.

From wikipedia:

A wiki is a website that uses wiki software, allowing the easy creation and editing of any number of interlinked Web pages, using a simplified markup language or a WYSIWYG text editor, within the browser.[1][2] Wikis are often used to create collaborative websites, to power community websites, for personal note taking, in corporate intranets, and in knowledge management systems.

Knowledge already known but reinforced! ok.

These are really useful tools.

Thing 11 – Discover Del.icio.us

Task completed - I have bookmarked for ages - this is abit below diploma level I think!

Thing 10 – Social networking

I listened to the video 'social networking' in plain english - yeap I understand this basic stuff - facebook & myspace are both great avenues of social interaction on the web. I have been using these things for years................

Thing 09 – Explore Slideshare

I have used slideshare before - it is an excellent resource for online learning. I am a huge fan of power point slides & have been using this type of presentation for years. Great site....

Thing 08 – Investigate YouTube

I have used, watched, copied & pasted youtube stuff for years. It is a useful tool & good site if you can ignore the rubbish that is also on it. Task completed.

Thing 07 – Play with Flickr

I took the tour & I also realised that:

There are 5 simple ways to upload your photos and videos to Flickr

  • via the Flickr Uploadr (available for both PC and Mac)
  • via iPhoto, Aperture, or Windows XP plugins
  • via our upload web page
  • via email
  • via various free third-party desktop programs
My favourite photo -

I played around on the site - Yes it is good, but I use pacaso, photoshop, wackit & other sources. They are all good it is just a matter of having the time to use the resource. But it was good & I will later use it should I need it.
